J. Chris Harvan, DMD
For the past 30 years practicing in the dental profession, I have gotten great satisfaction in helping patients gain confidence by having a healthy smile. I like to educate my patients on all their treatment options so they can make an informed decision about their oral health. Most of all, I enjoy the relationships I have built with my patients and their families over the years. When you become a patient at Southland Smiles, you become a part of our family.
- Bachelor of Science – University of Pittsburgh
- Doctor of Dental Medicine – University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
- Master of Business Administration – University of Colorado at Denver
I strive to provide my patients with the best care possible, so continuing my education is essential part of my job. I have completed more than 1,100 hours of CE and was awarded Master of the Academy of General Dentistry.
I believe it is important to make a difference and give back to the dental community. I spent 12 years teaching at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. As a full time faculty member, I taught restorative dentistry including full mouth rehabilitation, cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, full and partial dentures, and implants. During my tenure at the dental school, I was the Director of the Dental Faculty Practice and the Director of the International Student Program. For my commitment to excellence in dentistry I have received prestigious Fellowship in the International College of Dentists as well as Fellowship in the American College of Dentists.
Outside the Office
I am originally from Clifton, NJ, and now live in beautiful Colorado with my wife and our two great children. When I have free time I enjoy taking motorcycle trips on my Harley, gardening, and fixing things around the house.
